7. Looking back at your preliminary task (the college magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

Here is my College Magazine that i made and my Music Magazine. Can you see the difference?
I can see a great difference in the Layout, colour scheme, the text, the language and most of all it looks more professional. I could only of done this with the help of Photoshop.

I started using Photoshop back when i was doing my Preliminary task, which was making a college magazine. I went on to make a Music Magazine for my final piece and through the way i have made great knowledge and understanding as well as new skills with using this programme.
There are many Photoshop devices that i used to create my media products and to improve my work. Here are 4 of the many that i used.
1. Magic Wand Tool
The magic want tool allowed me to go round the object that i wanted to pin-point out of a certain photo, sometimes not with great ease but eventually you could get it right. This allowed me to take a photo and use any part of it i want without using it all.
2. Rubber Tool
I used the rubber tool a fair but when creating my music magazine. I used this mainly when i was creating my double page spread. Where the line is staggered separating the pink and the white, this is where i used the rubber tool. As you can see it gives it come what of a great effect and i believe it looks great.
3. Text Tool Button
Obviously the text tool needed to be used a fair amount when creating the music magazine. All of the text which i wrote was either done by using this or the text box tool. This allowed me to get my text lined up with great ease. To this you could change the colour, style, size whether it was bold or not etc. etc. This allowed my magazine to look professional with great ease.
4. Contrast and brightness menu button.
All of my photos needed editing before i used them in my magazine. This was due to them being to dark in places and the positioning not being right. I changed the colour and contrast by going to 'View' then 'Contrast and Brightness.' For example the photo on my double page spread the contrast was put to roughly 100% and the brightness was changed slightly. This helped the photo to look more appealing and professional.
