NME is a very popular music magazine in the music industry. It is the most well purchased and most respected music weekly of all time. Every week it gives its readers the most exciting, most authoritative coverage of the best in the contemporary music. The award winning www.nme.com launched in 1996, and has grown to be the biggest commercial music site in Europe.
The cost of the magazine is roughly £2.20 each issue. The target audience is males aged between 17 and 30.
From a typical NME front cover the NME logo is mainly red. Sometimes it may change to be Yellow or White. But whatever the colour is always relates well to the rest of the colour scheme and stand out. On an NME magazine cover there will always be a main image set back (one of which will appeal to the target audience) with the title of the article large, bold and standing out from the rest of the information on that page. The intention for this is to catch the reader’s eye so that the magazine will be purchased. Each magazine will have a barcode with the price and issue number on it. Furthermore, this NME cover has a feature articles being shown on the front cover. Having this will appeal to the audience and give them a brief understanding of what is inside the magazine so therefor they will want to purchase it. The Text on the feature articles are red and black on a white background. This stands out well and it makes it readable. These colours relate particularly well with the rest of the magazine. This particular cover to not have any secondary images on it, maybe it keeps it neat and professional.
