College Magazine Questionnaire Analysis

As being part of the student body at East Norfolk Sixth Form College, I am trying to discover whether a college magazine would be useful and beneficial or not and whether people would buy it, if so; how much for and what they would want the magazine to include. As a class we put together a range of questions to form a questionnaire to go out and ask other students for their opinion on the new college magazine idea. From asking a range of questions, we found out that 80% of the students questioned think that the college should have a magazine, but yet only 10% would actually buy it. However if they had to buy it, they would pay a small amount (50p to £1 most people said.) So in conclusion to this, I would do the first issue free of charge then charge a small amount for each issue from there onwards. The students who would said that the college should have a magazine said that they would want a new one to be published every 2 – 4 weeks, and they would want it to include; A Gossip Page, College Information, Course Information, An Events Guide and a Jobs Section. To this, I would make sure that these top five areas were on my cover and contents page.I would also include Bright Colours, lots of Photography, Important News for the Area and an eye catching front cover. E.g. a Picture of a Student. This is will make the magazine more appealing to its audience. We would advertise our magazine in many different ways, keeping in mind we want to advertise it for the least amount of cost. The way in which I would do this is to; firstly put it on the college website, as well as in fast food Take Away restaurant’s and public transport, so many students get to see the advertisement.
